If you have thought these things, you are an IMPROV NERD and you would be absolutely perfect for this class! We talking about film a lot in this class, and how to think of improv in cinematic terms; How can genre of film influence the game of the scene? How can recognizing archetypes affect the character I'm playing? We will be learning the improvised movie form as done by The Family, Feature Feature, Instant Cinema, Oscarbait, and the other improv teams that no one remembers.
Every week every student will be asked to watch at least one movie before every class. I will assign a new genre to the class every week. Please be prepared to discuss the film in class. Again, we're gonna talk about film A LOT.
